On behalf of the organizing committee we are pleased to announce the
Call for Papers for mLearn 2009, sponsored by the University of
Central Florida and the International Association for Mobile
Learning (IAmLearn), to be held in Orlando, Florida, USA, October 26-28.
We are pleased to host the conference for the first time in the USA
and feel that the time is right for rapid uptake of mobile learning
and significant advances in the state of the art.
As active members of the mobile learning and emerging technology
community, you are encouraged to submit theory-informed,
evidence-based papers and presentations from research, practitioner,
and adjacent disciplines. Based on the themes and topics for this
year, we anticipate a much broader reach in interdisciplinary areas,
cross-cultural examples and exchanges, and assessment of uses across
emerging vertical applications.
As organizers, we know that the quality of our conference will only
be as good as the quality of the research and submissions and look
forward to having our team of expert reviewers provide feedback that
will advance our understanding and innovation as mobile and
contextual learning continue to move forward rapidly.
We ask that you assist us by directing your associates to
www.mlearn2009.org for complete details on this conference and
online submission of proposals. I have also attached information on
the Call for Papers to assist you in forwarding this information
directly to colleagues.
Papers are due February 15, 2009, and notification of acceptance
will be sent out on May 18 in order to allow everyone time to budget
and plan. We look forward to welcoming you in Florida!
