"AI for an Intelligent Planet" workshop at IJCAI 2011, Barcelona, Spain
http://research.ihost.com/aiip11/index.html
We encourage submissions that show the application of AI technologies
for
an Intelligent/Smarter Planet and computational sustainability domains
with illustrative usecases, such as transportation (traffic prediction,
personal travel optimization, carpool and fleet scheduling), public
safety
(suspicious activity detection, disaster management), healthcare
(disease diagnosis and prognosis, pandemic management), water management
(quality monitoring, fault diagnosis), food (food traceability,
carbon-footprint tracking), energy (smart grid, carbon-footprint
tracking)
and buildings. We also encourage submissions that address unique
characteristics of standard AI concerning sustainability problems, like
knowledge representation, ontologies, optimization, planning and
learning.
We also want to "reach out" to the robotics, OR (optimization) and
general engineering communities who have worked extensively with
real-world problems. Topics of interest addressing issues for a more
intelligent and sustainable planet, include, but are not restricted to:
* Knowledge representation and reasoning challenges
* Application of machine learning and data mining techniques
* Challenges with managing and integrating real-time and historical data
* Novel data acquisition mechanisms such as crowd sourcing
* Use of speech and vision technologies
* Integrated systems
* Analytical techniques like constraint reasoning, optimization, and
planning.
* Issues in scaling out AI techniques for the planet
* Case Studies, successes, lessons learnt
* Public datasets and competitions
