The Mathematics Group in the School of Engineering and Applied Science is seeking to make two new appointments at the lecturer (equivalent to US Associate Professor) level. The appointments will augment our existing strengths in statistical pattern processing, machine learning, and statistical physics and dynamical modelling of complex systems (http://www.aston.ac.uk/ncrg) and would ideally be in the broad area of probabilistic approaches to non-linear signal processing and control. We are seeking strong enthusiastic applicants keen to develop their international research profiles and their own research teams. We particularly welcome female applicants as women are currently under-represented in this area.
All our mathematics staff are fully integrated in delivering our mainstream mathematics programmes at undergraduate and graduate levels and the new appointees will be expected to deliver excellence in their teaching as well as developing their research profiles. New appointees will have the opportunity to supervise undergraduate and postgraduate projects, be involved with our mathematics student society activities, and also to engage externally through contributing to industrial networks, masterclasses and summer schools. Information on the teaching activities can be found athttp://www1.aston.ac.uk/eas/about-eas/academic-groups/mathematics/. The starting date will be September 2013. Applications can be made online at https://jobs.aston.ac.uk/ For more information, please contact Prof. Ian Nabney ([email protected]). _______________________________________________ uai mailing list [email protected] https://secure.engr.oregonstate.edu/mailman/listinfo/uai
