The School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) at
Washington State University (WSU) in Pullman, WA invites applications for
three permanent full-time tenure-track faculty positions in Computer
Science. The first position is at the assistant professor level with
research emphasis in machine learning. The second position is at any level
(assistant, associate or full professor) with research emphasis in machine
learning. The third position is at the assistant professor level with
research emphasis in machine learning, bioinformatics and big data. All
candidates must be committed to building an active research program.
Candidates must have earned a PhD in Computer Science or a related
discipline prior to their start date. Candidates must have a strong
commitment to conducting publishable funded research, strong leadership
potential, exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, and a
commitment to diversifying the student body. The job duties of the
successful candidate will be to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in
computer science, effectively communicate and interact with students,
collaborate with others within the School, the University, or other
organizations, conduct funded research, publish in top-tier venues, and
direct MS and PhD student research programs. Candidates applying at the
associate or full professor level must also possess a strong record of
achievement in academia and/or industry.

These new faculty will join existing faculty in the School of EECS’s Smart
Environments program, which is one of the signature areas of the College of
Engineering and Architecture at WSU. The School of EECS has seen rapid
growth in enrollment over the past three years with 887 undergraduate and
184 graduate students enrolled as of Fall 2012. EECS expects continued
increase in enrollments and anticipates additional faculty hires.
