Dear colleagues,

We invite you to submit papers for Big Data Innovators Gathering,
co-located with WWW 2014, in April 2014 in Seoul, Korea.

Many of today's most successful enterprises science - in business and in
science - are built on the collection and analysis of data. The sheer
volume and richness of these data sets has stimulated a massive wave of
innovation. In addition, this revolution has also sparked important debate
on data privacy policies, ethics and governance. The BigData Innovators
Gathering (BIG) will bring together academic and industry leaders in the
big data space to share the state of the art and its successful application
in business. The two-day gathering will consist of keynotes from
visionaries in the field, panels on hot topics, contributed talks on
successes and best practices, and will reveal the winners of a data science
competition.

Call for Panel, Presentation and Demonstration Proposals

We invite proposals for contributed talks, demonstrations and panels that
highlight novel developments in the foundations, infrastructure,
applications and implications of big data. Proposals should be limited to
two pages and will be judged on the basis of thought leadership, technical
novelty and application potential; pure corporate or product marketing is
discouraged. Speculative work or significant works in progress are
acceptable, but should be grounded in an important application and should
specifically address the challenges associated with the large data sets of
today. Accepted presentations are to be delivered in person by one of the
authors of the proposal, at the WWW 2014 conference in Seoul, April 7-8,
2014.

Big Data Challenge: Call for Proposals & Participation

BIG 2014 will also host a Big Data competition. We are soliciting data
challenge proposals consisting of a problem definition along with a large
data set. Upon selecting a challenge, we will invite Big Data Scientists
from largecorporations to small startups to demonstrate innovative Big Data
skills by competing to provide the best solution to the selected problem.
Awards will be presented to the best Big Data innovators that meet the
challenge during theBIG 2014 gathering.
