PostDoc Researcher Position: Machine Learning for Transportation
The Machine Learning for Services group at Xerox Research Centre Europe
conducts fundamental and applied research in machine learning and
computational statistics, with applications in knowledge representation,
transportation, and mechanism design.
We are opening a PostDoc position in the group aimed at supporting XRCE
activities in modeling and optimization of transportation systems.
Jointly with the Advanced Development Lab at XRCE, we develop a platform
enabling the rapid deployment of components enabling novel services for
travellers and transport operators. The postdoc position will conduct
fundamental research, but also have the opportunity to work directly
with real customer data and see the results of research used by Xerox
business groups and our clients.
The ideal candidate should have a Ph.D. in Computer Science or related
field and experience in data analysis and machine learning. Experience
in transport and/or sensor modeling, operations research is a plus. The
successful candidate will be responsible for the development of
prototypes using such scripting languages as Matlab or Python, and their
integration into the platform, and will collaborate directly with other
members of the team.
*Requirements* :
- PhD in Computer Science or related field
- Strong publication record in top Machine Learning and Data Mining
conferences and journals
- Good experience in multi-source data analysis
- Strong written and oral communications skills
The position is available immediately and renewable for up to 18 months.
