CALL FOR PAPERS
=======================================
1st Complex Events and Information Modelling (CEIM'14)
Warsaw, Poland, September 7-10, 2014
WWW: http://fedcsis.org/ceim
E-mail: [email protected]
We would like to cordially invite you to consider contributing a paper
to CEIM 2014 - held as a part of the Federated Conference on Computer
Science and Information Systems (FedCSIS 2014).
FedCSIS is a yearly international multi-conference organized by the
Polish Information Processing Society (PTI) in technical cooperation
with the IEEE Region 8, IEEE Poland Section Computer Society Chapter,
IEEE Poland (Gdansk) Section Computer Society Chapter, ACM Special
Interest Group on Applied Computing, International Federation for
Information Processing, European Alliance for Innovation, IEEE-CIS
Poland Section Chapter, Informatics Europe, Asociación de Técnicos de
Informática, Committee of Computer Science of the Polish Academy of
Sciences, Polish Society for Business Informatics, Polish Chamber of
Information Technology and Telecommunications, Polish Chamber of
Commerce for High Technology and Eastern Cluster ICT Poland.
Event modelling is a method of intelligent analyzing streams of
information (data, percepts) about things that happen (events), and
deriving conclusions from them. The goal of CEIM is to identify
meaningful events and respond to them appropriately and quickly. We
define the complexity of the event as both the complexity of the
modelled physical phenomenon (fire, weather, chemical reaction,
biological process) as well as the heterogeneity of the data (digital
images, percepts, sensory data, natural language, semi-structured and
structured data). In addition, the emphasis should be placed on the
intelligent aspect of these models. This means that systems should semi-
autonomously perceive their environment and take action.
The workshop on Complex Events and Information Modelling provides an
interdisciplinary forum for researchers and developers. The workshop is
mostly intended for applications of Artificial Intelligence in Fire
Safety domain, but we also encourage researchers from other fields:
health care, smart buildings, ubiquitous computing, process mining and
others. The workshop covers the whole range of theoretical and practical
aspects, technologies and systems and aims at bringing together
specialists for exchanging ideas and promote interdisciplinary discussions.

IEEE for inclusion in the Xplore Digital Library. Furthermore,
proceedings, published in a volume with ISBN and ISSN numbers will
posted at the conference WWW site. Since 2012, Proceedings of the
FedCSIS conference are indexed in the Thomson Reuters Web of Science.
Moreover, extended versions of selected papers presented during the
conference will be published as Special Issue(s).
