*Call for Papers - BRACIS/ENIAC 2014* ========================================================= *BRACIS 2014* - Brazilian Conference on Intelligent Systems and *ENIAC 2014* - Encontro Nacional de Inteligência Artificial e Computacional October 18-23, 2014 - São Carlos-SP, Brazil ========================================================= The joint conference Brazilian Conference on Intelligent Systems (BRACIS) - Encontro Nacional de Inteligência Artificial e Computacional (ENIAC) is the combination of the most important scientific events in the country historically related to Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Computational Intelligence (CI): the Brazilian Symposium on Artificial Intelligence (SBIA, 21 editions), the Brazilian Symposium on Neural Networks (SBRN, 12 editions) and the Encontro Nacional de Inteligência Artificial (ENIA, 10 editions). The main goal of BRACIS is the promotion of international level research by exchanging scientific ideas among researchers, practitioners, scientists and engineers, as well as promoting original theories and novel applications dealing with the use and analysis of Artificial and Computational intelligence techniques in various related fields. ENIAC is a national forum for researchers, practitioners, educators and students to present and discuss innovations, trends, experiences, developments and work in progress in the fields of Artificial and Computational Intelligence. Students are especially encouraged to submit and present their results in ENIAC. BRACIS\ENIAC 2014 shares the same goals of its previous editions and adds the aim to stimulate the development of high-level research that crosses boundaries between Artificial and Computational Intelligence. BRACIS\ENIAC 2014 will be held in the intellectually vibrant city of São Carlos that hosts campuses of the University of São Paulo (USP) and the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCAR). *Topics of Interest:* - Foundations of AI - Logic based Knowledge Representation and Reasoning - Knowledge Representation and Reasoning (including Commonsense Reasoning, Model-Based Reasoning, Probabilistic Reasoning, Approximate Reasoning) - Knowledge Representation and Reasoning in Ontologies and the Semantic Web - Constraints and Search - Evolutionary Computation - Fuzzy Systems - Planning and Scheduling - Machine Learning and Data Mining - AI applied to Natural Language Processing - AI in Computer Vision - Pattern Recognition and Cluster Analysis - Agent-based and multi-agent systems - Distributed AI - Neural Networks - Game Playing and Intelligent Interactive Entertainment - Information retrieval, integration, and extraction - Intelligent Robotics - Cognitive modelling and human interaction - Swarm Intelligence - Molecular and quantum computing - Hybrid Systems - Bioinformatics and bioengineering - Combinatorial and numerical optimization - Forecasting - Multidisciplinary AI and CI - AI and CI in Education - Other AI and CI related topics *BRACIS proceedings* The BRACIS proceedings will be published by CPS (IEEE CS Press). *ENIAC proceedings* The proceedings of ENIAC will be published online as BDBComp Proceedings. *Submission* BRACIS\ENIAC will have a unified submission process. Papers should be written in English or Portuguese. Submitted papers must not exceed 6 pages, including all tables, figures, and references (style of the IEEE Computer Society Press). At maximum, two additional pages are permitted with overlength page charge. Formatting instructions, as well as templates for Word and /LaTeX/, can be found in http://www.computer.org/portal/web/cscps/formatting The best papers in English will be included in the BRACIS proceedings published by IEEE. All accepted papers written in Portuguese will appear in the ENIAC proceedings, published electronically as BDBComp. The remaining accepted papers submitted in English, but not indicated to BRACIS will be suggested for publication in ENIAC. Authors of selected papers will be invited to submit extended versions of their work to be appreciated for publication in special issues of several international journals (to be announced). Submission Policy By submitting papers to BRACIS/ENIAC 2014, the authors agree that in case of acceptance, at least one author should be fully registered to the conference **before** the deadline for sending the camera-ready paper.
