This is a call to current Ph. D candidates to submit applications for a summer research internship opportunity in the Cognitive Computing Research group at IBM T. J. Watson Research Center, Yorktown Heights, NY, USA. We are looking for a senior Ph. D candidate with a strong research background in the areas of preference modeling and representation, and mathematical techniques for preference elicitation and preference learning. The ideal candidate should have experience in computer science subjects such as artificial intelligence and machine learning, with a strong emphasis on decision analysis/theory. We are interested in projects involving the following topics:
- · Multi-attribute value and utility theory
· Preference elicitation techniques
· Studying cognitive biases during preference construction
· Learning preferences from data
