The chair of Artificial Intelligence at the University of Mannheim offers a

PhD / Postdoc Position

in a national research project on Ontology and Process Matching. The initial duration of the position is 2 years with a possible extension to 3-5 years. Salary is according to the German Salary Scale for researchers (level E13) and ranges between 3200,- and 4.600,- Euro before taxes depending on qualification.

Candidates should have a Master or Diploma degree in Computer Science or related disciplines with a good or preferably very good result, be fluent in English and have solid programming skills in JAVA or other high level languages. Candidates for a Post-Doc Position are also expected to have international publications at A level conferences in the field of Artificial Intelligence or Semantic Web Technologies. All candidates should have proven skills in at least one of the following areas:

- Knowledge Representation and Reasoning
- Probabilistic Graphical Models
- Natural Language Processing
- Combinatorial Optimization

The Chair of Artificial Intelligence is part of the Data- and Web Science Group, one of the leading research Groups on semantic Data Analysis in Germany with currently 4 Professors 5 Postdoctoral researchers and more than 20 PhD Students.
