** Your Role
The position is intended to complement and strengthen existing research
expertise in the Computer Science and Communication Research Unit (RU
CSC). He or she will reinforce and expand the activities of the RU in
the field of Big Data. This refers to the storage, aggregation and
analysis of massive amounts of structured and unstructured data, using
for instance machine learning/data mining techniques, possibly
exploiting different kinds of reliable/uncertain background knowledge.
Relevant application domains of Big Data are offered by the new
"Computational Science” priority of the FSTC, the Luxembourg Centre of
Systems Biomedicine (LCSB), and the Interdisciplinary Centre of Security
and Trust (SnT). Other areas of interest include, but are not limited
to, Big Data in Mobile and Pervasive Computing, Human-Computer
Interactions, Robotics, and AI-applications, or Large Scale Natural
Language Processing.

the Faculty. The contribution of the new colleague is essential to

** Your Profile
We are looking for a person with strong academic credentials and a track
record of high international visibility in the field of Big Data (or
closely related areas). Didactic skills, leadership abilities, service
to the scientific community, and the willingness to collaborate with
existing research groups will be considered as well.
