The DUKe (Data User Knowledge) research group, part of the LINA <https://www.lina.univ-nantes.fr/> laboratory (UMR CNRS 6241), University of Nantes <http://www.univ-nantes.fr/>, France, aims at proposing querying, mining and learning techniques that take into account data types (relational, spatial, graphical, temporal, stream, etc.), uncertainty, privacy expert knowledge or user interactions through adapted visual supports The successful candidate will work on the i) formalization and ii) learning of metrics (or similarities) dedicated to structured data, particularly on graphs and relational data. The candidate will work under the supervision of Philippe Leray and Hoel Le Capitaine. The workplace is the beautiful city of Nantes. Nantes is a city in western France, located on the Loire River, 50 km from the Atlantic coast with excellent train connection to Paris (about 2h) and an international airport. The city is the 6th largest in France. In 2004, the Time magazine described Nantes as « the most liveable city in Europe ». With 170 new digital tech companies per year, Nantes is also one of the top 10 digital tech cities in France.
