9th International Symposium on Combinatorial Search, SoCS 2016

We are pleased to invite you to register for the 9th installment of the
International Symposium on Combinatorial Search, SoCS 2016. This year, SoCS is
co-located with the International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence, 
IJCAI-16.

The research topics of the papers that will be presented in the Symposium
include heuristic search and other forms of combinatorial search. These are
active areas of research in artificial intelligence, planning, robotics,
constraint programming, operations research, bioinformatics, and other areas of
computer science. SoCS is meant to bring researchers from these areas together
to exchange ideas and cross-fertilize the field.

Instructions on registering and booking accommodation are available on
the website of the Symposium at url http://socs16.search-conference.org/

The venue is a scenic resort 25 miles North from Manhattan.
The registration fee covers all meals and access to the facilities of
the resort, including tennis, bocce, basketball, volleyball, cardio, strength
training, racquetball, swimming, etc.

  by Michael Buro, University of Alberta.

- Search for Optimal Solutions: the Heart of Heuristic Search is Still Beating
  by Ariel Felner, Ben-Gurion University.

Early Registration deadline: May 31st, 2016
Late Registration deadline: June 21st, 2016


Travel Support for Students
===========================

SoCS is a student-friendly event and we have already secured
substantial funding to support students attending the symposium.
Preference for support will be given to students presenting work at
the symposium.

Students can apply for travel support by contacting the conference chairs.
Details about the application process are available in the website.


Transportation to IJCAI on July 8th
===================================

There will be a bus from SoCS to IJCAI (held in Manhattan) on the evening of
July 8th.
