*Job Description: Assistant Professor in Computer and Information Science
(CIS)*

The CIS Department at the University of Michigan - Dearborn invites
applications for multiple tenure-track assistant professor positions in all
areas of computer science, with special emphasis on software engineering,
computer systems (e.g., distributed systems), data science/AI/machine
learning, and data management. The expected starting date is September 1,
2019.  Although candidates at the Assistant Professor rank are preferred,
exceptional candidates may be considered for the rank of Associate
Professor depending upon experience and qualifications. We offer
competitive salaries and start-up packages.

The CIS Department offers several B.S. and M.S. degrees, and a Ph.D.
degree. The current research areas in the department include artificial
intelligence, computational game theory, computer graphics, data science,
data management, energy-efficient systems, game design, graphical models,
machine learning, multimedia, natural language processing, networking,
security, service and cloud computing, software engineering, and wearable
sensors and health informatics. These areas of research are supported by
several established labs and many of these areas are currently funded by
federal agencies and industries.

*Qualifications: *

Qualified candidates must have earned a Ph.D. degree in computer science or
a closely related discipline by September 1, 2019.  Candidates will be
expected to do scholarly and sponsored research, as well as teaching at
both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
