SnT carries out interdisciplinary research in secure, reliable and trustworthy
ICT (Information and Communication Technologies) systems and services, often in
collaboration with governmental, industrial and international partners. SnT is
active in several national projects funded by National Research Fund (FNR) and
local industries, and international research projects funded by the EU FP7
programme, H2020 programme and the European Space Agency (ESA). For further
information, you may check: www.securityandtrust.lu.

The Parallel Computing & Optimisation Group (PCOG) is conducting research on
parallel computing and optimization techniques, in particular new research
topics include decentralized optimization techniques that nevertheless lead to
a good global behavior of the system.

The main application domains of the team fit the University of Luxembourg
priorities:
        - Security, trust and reliability, for example, cryptology, intrusion
detection, and reliable scheduling and routing on new generations of networks
such as p2p, ad-hoc, and hybrids.
        - Unmanned autonomous vehicles (UAV), Smart Cities
        - Sustainable development, for instance, Energy Efficient Data Centers
        - Systems biomedecine, for example, genomic sequencing, protein
folding, genomic modeling

Your Role:
The successful candidate will be part of the Swarm Intelligent Missions systeMS
(SIMMS) project financed by the FNR Proof-of-Concept (PoC) program and will
conduct research and development on swarms of UAVs. The candidate’s tasks
include the following:

        - Designing and implementing state-of-the-art drone swarming solutions,
        - Managing the project development,
        - Validating and demonstrating the solutions (simulation and real
tests).
