One additional point here is that Opera actively support W3C's Widgets
spec. The Opera browser is a container for light weight js/html/svg/css
extensions packaged as widgets (basically a zip file plus manifest).

Ubiquity has some great ideas about next-generation Web UI. But it won't
become, erm, ubiquitous without becoming some kind of standard. Joining
forces with the Widgets work could be a nice path in that direction.

Ubiquity could be considered a commandline interface to a collection of
widgets. It also offers a different approach to the packaging,
security/trust and distribution issues, but perhaps the UI aspect could
be separated so that Opera Widgets might use Ubiquity APIs to declare
nouns and verbs. I'm not sure if a UI widget (one that implemented a
Ubiquity-like UI) could ever access APIs declared in other widgets, but
it could be worth investigating.

cheers,

Dan
