It's on our roadmap to provide API for pluggable interfaces.
Right now, it's kind of difficult to do all this.

As for the other question - i think we should change the suggestions for
something like: with modifiers (and replacements), without modifiers (and
without replacements) and, them, show the variations. I.e.:

Input: twitter this is wonderful as fernando_takai

1) twitter http://google.com is wonderful (as) fernando_takai
2) twitter this is wonderful as fernando_takai (as) (user)
3) twitter this is wonderful (as) fernandotakai

and on and on.
