I've been wanting to create a bookmarklet auto-detector for some time, and pulling quick search bookmarks and search engines from the browser are also great ideas! The new feed plugin mechanism should make these relatively easy to whip up, too.
If anyone's interested in trying their hand at implementing one of these, please let me know--I can point you in the right direction and answer any questions you have. - Atul On 2/6/09 12:54 PM, Tom 94301 wrote: > It seems to me that Ubiquity would be a lot more useful if it actually > automatically picked up several kinds of smarts already in the > browser: > > -- quick search bookmarks > -- search engines from the search box > -- bookmarklets > > Maybe Ubiquity could look in the entire bookmarks file, or maybe just > in a toplevel Ubiquity folder. > > I think it would also be important to quickly define new commands > without JavaScript programming, maybe by typing an example, hitting a > hotkey, and then using a second level of Ubiquity "meta"-commands to > define the meaning of what one just typed. > > > --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "ubiquity-firefox" group.
