I am using Ubiquity 0.2pre12 on Firefox 3.0.6 with a 2.0GHz/512MB notebook with Windows XP SP2.
I notice that even when my computer is not unusually busy (CPU usage consistently below 50%, at least 50MB free in RAM, page file less than 700 MB) the Ubiquity interface is slow to the point of being unusable. It takes about two seconds for a character I type to even appear in the command field. When typing something longer like a Twitter message, I can sit back and wait for a few minutes while the command slowly appears, character by character. I understand that I'm using outdated hardware, but surely a simple Javascript application should not require game-quality computing power to work? The character typing event probably executes some code that shouldn't run in series with displaying the character, so that the interface isn't delayed by background operations. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "ubiquity-firefox" group.
