This is strange indeed - which version of ubiquity were you running before this update? Very few changes went into Ubiquity between 0.1.6 and 0.1.6.1, and none of them contain anything that seem likely to cause a crash. Could you try to run it in a clean profile, just to see if that makes any difference? - and if not, possibly try to run firefox from Terminal, that might give you some debug-information when it crashes.
