I'm using the FUEL API which was introduced in Firefox 3 for command
data persistence: https://developer.mozilla.org/en/FUEL/Application
You can get an instance of the application storage and begin putting
data into it.
var store = Application.storage;
store.set('foo', 'bar');
var foo = store.get('foo');
I'm using this technique in my commands, like "twtplus":

Not sure what's the difference between the storage and prefs, though.
