I briefly looked into OAuth for exactly twitter when I was writing my
twitter jetpack feature, but I was quickly annoyed/confused by the existing
OAuth js libs...

If anyone has any experience with OAuth though, I can't see why it should
take much effort to write a lib from scratch - that would also clear us of
the license hurdles...
