Perhaps it's possible to display the number of users in the neighbourhood (or at least a static estimation gathered around release time if there is no network enabled) on the map when choosing the local, e.g. Milan, Italy 1012, Paris, France 505.

One simple, actionable suggestion is to make the Installer slideshow give a brief note about the popularity and growth of Ubuntu (20 million users or so according to the latest estimates). This would help inform users that there is a much wider world out there of community support, involvement, and contribution. Additionally, it would help provide social proof of Ubuntu and make people doing the install feel better about their decision :) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubiquity-slideshow-ubuntu/+bug/890880/+subscriptions _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubiquity-slideshow Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubiquity-slideshow More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
