You might be mixing up how it was a little earlier with what it's doing now :)
Originally, it was doing a search for #ubuntu. That gave us a really cool, wide range of tweets from all sorts of people. Unfortunately, the lack of moderation was really worrying, so that was replaced with a list of accounts that aren't likely to troll people. That list is managed over here: https://twitter.com/#!/hello_ubuntu/installer-slideshow (One of those accounts is an account that retweets stuff, so when everything is live it'll look a little more exciting). I hope to see it happen, but getting a diverse language selection inside that framework is going to be something of an operation. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubiquity Slideshow, which is subscribed to ubiquity-slideshow-ubuntu in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/942046 Title: Hide Twitter stream for non-English slideshows Status in “ubiquity-slideshow-ubuntu” package in Ubuntu: Fix Released Bug description: The Twitter stream is only showing English-language tweets. So, it should only be visible during English installs until a multi-language feed is available.
