I hope you will reconsider approving the fix. As you mentioned it's pretty straightforward.
We've been working on this for months (as you know from Github) and just three weeks ago you wrote "the slideshow won't get updated until after UI freeze at the earliest". You pushed the screenshots yourself three days ago and now it's too late - it seems like a VERY small window! Although this isn't as evident with a 18.10 wallpaper as with 18.04, this CSS also fixes the issue with orange hyperlinks on orange background and outdated icons.
