Years ago, I think that we used to enable -proposed in daily LTS build images but that doesn't seem to be the case now. I think that's a good thing that we don't enable -proposed because it doesn't match our normal images or normal use.
I verified that the Appearance screen has been updated in the slideshow. I booted the Ubuntu 22.04 LTS desktop release ISO in "Try Ubuntu" mode. I enabled jammy-proposed in the apt sources and then installed ubiquity- slideshow-ubuntu/181.1 .
