Good evening,

This is not the first time this has happened and last time required us
replacing a unit... I am hoping to resolve this asap and need help from you
guys to help me wrap my head around this. I have two DHCP pools not issuing
leases at all. I do not know what else to do other then reset the router and
try it re configuring from scratch... I have an entire site of customers down
but want this fixed without having to swap hardware or reset... Any help would
be greatly appreciated!!

Here is the present DHCP Config:

set service dhcp-server disabled false
set service dhcp-server hostfile-update disable
set service dhcp-server shared-network-name 102CustNet74 authoritative enable
set service dhcp-server shared-network-name 102CustNet74 subnet
74.116.132.32/27 default-router 74.116.132.32
set service dhcp-server shared-network-name 102CustNet74 subnet
74.116.132.32/27 dns-server 74.116.132.15
set service dhcp-server shared-network-name 102CustNet74 subnet
74.116.132.32/27 dns-server 74.116.132.16
set service dhcp-server shared-network-name 102CustNet74 subnet
74.116.132.32/27 lease 86400
set service dhcp-server shared-network-name 102CustNet74 subnet
74.116.132.32/27 start 74.116.132.34 stop 74.116.132.62
set service dhcp-server shared-network-name 102CustNet199 authoritative enable
set service dhcp-server shared-network-name 102CustNet199 subnet
199.83.116.128/25 default-router 199.83.116.129
set service dhcp-server shared-network-name 102CustNet199 subnet
199.83.116.128/25 dns-server 74.116.132.15
set service dhcp-server shared-network-name 102CustNet199 subnet
199.83.116.128/25 lease 86400
set service dhcp-server shared-network-name 102CustNet199 subnet
199.83.116.128/25 start 199.83.116.130 stop 199.83.116.254
set service dhcp-server shared-network-name 102Management authoritative enable
set service dhcp-server shared-network-name 102Management subnet
172.16.102.0/24 default-router 172.16.102.1
set service dhcp-server shared-network-name 102Management subnet
172.16.102.0/24 dns-server 74.116.132.15
set service dhcp-server shared-network-name 102Management subnet
172.16.102.0/24 dns-server 74.116.132.16
set service dhcp-server shared-network-name 102Management subnet
172.16.102.0/24 lease 86400
set service dhcp-server shared-network-name 102Management subnet
172.16.102.0/24 start 172.16.102.15 stop 172.16.102.254

Now to explain this:
The 74.116.132.32/27 was the original subnet for customers. Was working until
i deleted and recreated it this afternoon. Now it does not serve any
addresses. Added the 199.83.116.128/25 network to the same interface and
enabled its DHCP server. Thought on that was if one was full, it would
automatically feed from the other. Never tried this, but we have static
mappings that need to stay in the 74.116.132.32/27 subnet. They are not shown
at this time due to reconfiguration but are saved and ready to go back in. the
172.16.102.0/24 is on eht0.10 and is my management network for our radio
network. This is working and leasing without an issue. I have compared this
config to our other sites, and they are identical. I have no idea where to go
from here. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Hi Robert,

I just checked with the AC2 team and they said it should be fine. Here's what
they recommended:

It should work fine on that hardware. also it should not be any problem running
on VM. However he should edit server vmoptions file to dedicate more ram,
because even if he has 48gb, Java by default will use only one 1gb. I believe
2gb for java should be fine.

What would you all recommend hardware wise for an AC2 server to handle ~3k CPE?

I have some older (but new) ibm x3650’s laying around with 2 dual core
3ghz procs, 48gb ram etc.

Can AC2 be ran in a VM without issue or is it better to be on a dedicated piece
of hardware?

Thanks,
Robert Haas
