It's only advantage is that it used to be significantly cheaper, now it isn't. Use single mode only so you have the same set of tools and supplies as you'd need anywhere else. Towers probably don't make much of a difference, but anywhere else you use single mode because at some point in the future you may want to splice it into some sort of metro build and for that you'll want single mode.
