Lost half day on not knowing something about this unit. Thought I would pass it along.
The unit does not come with a power brick. You can power it by direct wire to lugs, by a POE in only port cat5, or in the main POE data port cat5. We have many installed, but all are powered through the POE data port using an EdgeRouter with POE ports. No problem. Then we had an install where we used a standard 24Vdc and then a 48Vdc UBNT brick. Fiber POE lights up properly, but we had no data. We assumed, wrongly, that it was either a fiber issue or SFP issue, since we had just spent a few days with bad splices and other issues, including SFP incompatibilities. Hours later, a thought hit me to try a 1Gig POE, and bingo!
