Hi.
I use apt-get in the terminal to update my system since I loose speech
when I sudo in a gtk app. Hopefully, the at-spi design decision that
tied at-spi to the user will be fixed.
For now, try
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
