Hello there question 4.4 in the Orca FAQ worked for me, to get voxin to run via alsa. "How do I get Orca to speak alongside other alsa applications?" http://live.gnome.org/Orca/FrequentlyAskedQuestions
basically put /usr/bin/aoss at the start of the location string.
