hi all.

I just saw this message from Luke Yelavich
in the ubuntu accessibility mailing list. I would like to know if this has been
fixed, or if it has a work around, as I am thinking of getting ttsynth:

------

Greetings all.
I am writing to inform you all, that as of Ubuntu Hardy 8.04, to be released in
April next year, the
Ttsynth/Ibmtts speech synthesizer will no longer work, due to a library that it
depends on, having been removed from
the Ubuntu archives. This library was a left over piece from the gcc 2.95 and
glibc 2.2 toolchain, that was kept in
ubuntu for compatibility reasons. It is actually a wonder that it has stayed
around this long.

I appreciate the fact that there are many of you out there that use this synth
daily, however this decision was out
of my hands, and it is a matter for the vendors to sort out. I would encourage
users of this synth to contact the
vendor from which you purchased your license, to ask them for a proper
resolution to this issue. The library that
ttsynth/ibmtts currently depends on is libstdc++2.10-glibc2.2, which is the
library that was removed from Ubuntu
hardy.

Thanks in advance for your understanding.
