The drums sound when using the live session, before it is installed to any drive. When the screen "Try Ubuntu" "Install Ubuntu" comes up, the drums should sound. Hitting Ctrl+s after those drums starts Orca and allows a screen-reader install. I could be wrong, since I don't use USB drives to do any installations.
