Remember too that development resources, including those in the area of
accessibility, are stretched pretty thin right now with the move to Mir
and the new Unity that will span all sorts of mobile and set top /
desktop platforms.
I'd suggest sticking to Ubuntu 12.04 for now. That's what I use, via the
Vinux project. I gave Fedora a spin, but I found it had the same short
comings I find in ubuntu 12.04 right now with Unity 2D.

While I sincerely miss Ubuntu, I have had to move on. I have used Fedora
for almost two years now, but I am excitedly awaiting the new Sonar
release. I tried a test image on a live USB flash drive system, and it
simply excelled in performance!
