One of the reasons not many places sell machines with Ubuntu, on any Linux,
pre-installed is a lack of profit. What they need is some 'added value' such
as a support contract, normally for some other program or suite of programs
over the top of Linux.

There are a few though that sell machines with Linux pre-installed. Alan Bell
started a site listing places that sold such machines along with those that
sell machines with out an OS http://nakedcomputers.org/ It may be worth
contacting some of the suppliers to see what sort of support we/they can offer.
