If you're talking about interface, it's a great challenge! Look at this, it's a picture showing the desktop metaphor of ÉtoiléOS (GNUStep based). On its desktop, documents, launchers, etc. and even messaging people are abstract icons. As well, documents does'nt need to be "labeled" with a name, because they are "concepts".
But I think that, being a great and innovative idea, it will not fit in this "windowized" society. --
