Canonical have always said no money for advertising, that's not how they do things or see where their budget can go, other locoteams raise the funds themselves and get stuff done that way, but seeing as this is a generic list and not a team list I would suggest concentrating on getting marketing material out to new people or articles done up and sent to journalists, or translated.
