Accentuated letter display as "?" character on sms

Bug description:
On krillin, image 224, set to spanish language: when I send messages
with á,é,í, etc, it displays (on the recipient's) as "?"
When I'm sent those same characters, they also are diplayed as "?" on
the krillin
