My thoughts : you won't know what it looks like until you are done. It doesnt have to have detail like barbs and shafts on the feathers. Just a mascot ! A vector style would involve simplifying the image and shouldnt take more than an hour or two.

I'm tracing the duck into SVG, but its going to be a big job. Here's what I have so far, do you think this is worth pursuing, or should I spend my time elsewhere?
