I am using it currently on an ubuntu box in my room. On my laptop(also running ubuntu) I am currently using http://www.gary.dgswa.com/gallery/album17/wire10 The alpha images are very subtle, and let you set the background color to whatever you wish. Currently I am using a dark blue. I want to play around with this a little more, but I totally get what you are saying and appreciate the feedback. When I get some more free time I will try some more natural stuff. Like you I do not have much free time. I created the 3d logo, and then just rendered it with various textures and lighting.
