Gimp suposedly has support for PSDs - do we know what aspects of PSDs are problematic? - it is probably much easier for an artist to work around a couple of features that Gimp doesn't have than learn how to use a whole new program... Unfortunatley I'm guessing effect layers is one of these unsupported things, but I don't know
I am not trying to convert you - I know Gimp has limitations, but if you haven't yet tried it then you may have some luck with 'gimpshop' http://plasticbugs.com/index.php?p=241 basically a UI hack of gimp - if your troubles went eyond UI then it isn't likely to help a great deal :) Also - does Photoshop have the ability to export to a folder of PNGs for each layer - an artist with Gimp could make an xcf from those layers - it would at least be easier than re-creating from a flat image Who On 8/19/06, Michiel Sikma <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > On Aug 19, 2006, at 10:46 AM, Frank Schoep wrote: > > > I see. > > > > Before I write up a definitive policy on this, I took a look at the > > file formats supported by Photoshop[1] to see if there are any > > other layered formats available.
