Mark, an honour to get an email from you.

I am afraid to say that it's far more simple than all that. I found that by
making soft links in the ~/.fonts folder to a ttf file, it would "install" a
font. So, from that the idea grew pretty quickly.
All I am doing is managing flat text files which I call "pogs" that list the
ttf fonts selected and when one "installs" the pog, I simply make links to
them.

I have kept it as simple as I could. The pog files are intentionally human
readable so that they can be searched and replaced (should font directories
change) by the user.

I did it in wxPython, once again ease and ignorance were my motivations - I am
not too clued-up on C and company :)

I am aiming at a more "gui" like version next and I after that hope to add a
pyqt interface so that it will find whichever one (wx or qt) is installed at
the time, thus making it easier (I hope) for the end user.

Well, I have taken too much of your time. Thanks for the interest and thanks
for Ubuntu!
