Hi, a gallery / wiki would be interesting. There would be two parts, one where everybody can upload a creation (gnome-look, kde-look), and an other where there would be the way for an "official artwork", so argue in the wiki (or a chat) and make a decision after a time, in the first page we would can see this (as: http://tango.freedesktop.org/Tango_Icon_Theme_Guidelines). And everybody can purpose icons, wallpapers with the defined style but a band of boss would choose (for a good, strong artwork) what will be in the official Artwork. ps: sorry for my bad english. 2007/10/11, Kenneth Wimer <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>: > > On Thursday 11 October 2007 00:05:01 Nick Bauermeister wrote: > > Hi, > > > > sorry for the dumb question first but why exactly has art.ubuntu.com > > taken down in the first place? > > We still have an own thread in the german Ubuntu community for it and > > many people keep asking when it's coming back. > > It was taken down because it was hosted externally and was one of the > sites > which were recently hacked. > > > > > I think using art.ubuntu for proposals would be a great thing, because > > this way we will get back an Ubuntu related artwork community but make > > sure it will be high quality artwork, since it should be designed to get > > > into Ubuntu only. > > > > If you look for 'Ubuntu' on sites like gnome-look, most entries are > > ripoffs with a Ubuntu logo pasted on a picture or something like this. > > So it would be nice to have a place for creative people that are aiming > > to get their stuff into Ubuntu but their work won't be lost, if it > > doesn't make it. > > Right, but is the artwork any better on ubuntu-art.org?
