No, for now I tweaked Troy's version a bit and used that. We can look into using a semi-transparent version but the ones I looked at need a bit of work in my opinion. Here is a list of things I would like to discuss, perhaps you or others have more...let me know. 1) simplified panel icons: how to move forward and get more people interested and working on them 2) wallpapers 3) The hibernate icon is missing in GDM (it did not have that functionality in the past). I would like to use the same symbols we use in the desktop logout screen which means we need to redo all the icons in gdm so that they fit to one style. The current GDM icons are somewhat outdated anyway so this is a good time to update this. 4) Possible tweaks to GDM artwork to make it fit with the desktop better. 5) The OpenOffice.org icons are being put in several bzr repo's (tango, human, and a merged set) along with scripts to help keep things straight. We can discuss where to go from here with this stuff. 6) Using a clear looks theme instead of ubuntu looks: It does not look like we will be able to get the needed changes upstream so we therefor need to look into what we can change and what we cannot and decide whether it is worthwhile to make these changes now or wait until we can do more of what we want in the next version. 7) 8.10 artwork ideas. I am putting together a pdf with a bunch of my ideas, we can look into getting something similar from others in the community so that we can present our ideas and move forward.
