I technique often used to bring clarity to a team is stating the goals
and objectives. Very useful to someone new and in light of the lively
discussion of late this may help.

Background Info:

* Goals are broad; objectives are narrow.
* Goals are general intentions; objectives are precise.
* Goals are intangible; objectives are tangible.
* Goals are abstract; objectives are concrete.
* Goals can't be validated as is; objectives can be validated.

I like to lead off with a vision statement which acts like a compass,
always keeping us pointed in the right direction.

I created a wiki page to capture our agreed outcome and I thought we
would work this efforts through the list.

I suggest starting by defining our vision. As an example:

"Our desire is to add value to the Ubuntu community by creating high
quality artistic content and advocating the use of open source creative
tools."

The vision statement broadly defines who we are and is usually only a
sentence or two.

Your thoughts?
