While I've heard word that Canonical would like to move away from the mascot wallpapers I think they are (or can be) quite fun. I think there's no reason why we can't collect the best from each release from here on out and have then in their own section. Maybe even have this be it's own ongoing project that someone can manage. Get the word out and collect submissions from different places. All it would require is some writing and management skills.
