Having a black gdm and a brown /white wallpaper like in jaunty is really jarring to the who experience. Imho, I would ask the team responsible for default backgrounds for help in choosing a complimentary color scheme. Really a good job otherwise, some interesting ideas do not seem to have made it in this time... on the the question of color is there a reason why the current color scheme /was/ chosen? why was it limited to to 2 colors?
