The "throbber" looks really good. This is better (as described by Mat Tomaszewski) than the progress bar until the boot process is more predictable. I agree that the colour needs to be changed. I think either https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Artwork/Incoming/Karmic/Boot/#Iteration 1 or https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Artwork/Incoming/Karmic/Boot/#Iteration 3 are really good. I think how the panels emerge/fade in like on Iteration 4 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zcSpkmM36nA<http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zcSpkmM36nA&hd=1> is really smooth and looks great. Would it be possible to have the desktop icons "fade in" as well? Are there any effects available when transitioning from boot/gdm to desktop? Cheers, Daniel
