If i'm not mistaken the dude created the logo from scratch, no easy feat. There are some extra resources here http://design.canonical.com/the-toolkit/ubuntu-brand-guidelines/ although you have to dig through the "Ubuntu logo assets<http://design.canonical.com/brand/Logos/Ubuntu_brandmark_aw.zip>" file to get them. Personally I'd love to see more hand made artwork, vs computer made or photo's. Hand made artwork always has a natural beauty.
