just run sudo apt-get install ndiswrapper-util and you should be able to get it to work. You have to be careful with installing debs directly as unlike repository installs via apt/aptitude/synaptic they will not satisfy dependencies. A good package should have them listed and you can search synaptic to see if they are installed, and install them as necessary,
